Almost five years after we chortled at the chutzpa of two Hungarian athletes disqualified from the 2004 Olympics, it looks like the country has a new reining champion of post-doping cheek.
Last week sumo wrestler Sándor Bárdosi was stripped of a gold medal and fined €3,000 for failing a drug test after the July "World Games" in Taiwan. And just like with the '04 team, he couldn't give a shit! Following the decision, Bárdosi (left, in some kind of zany publicity shot) told origio.hu that his "conscience was clear" and would not be returning his medal or paying the fine, even though an expert polled by the portal disputed the notion that the banned drug found in Bárdosi - something called Furosemide - was only in there because of a wasp sting he had suffered before the match.
Bárdosi then went on to say that he didn't mind being banned from competing in the sport, as he is becoming too old for it anyway. Classy
