Dana is in control and he knows it. He isn’t offering up his position either. Well, even if he did, UFC President, Dana White doesn’t think anyone else would fit the bill anyway. There was a suggestion made on the May ESPN E:60. The suggestion went as far to claim that the promotion needed a polished suit, rather than Dana, who is a bold unhindered force.
Dana White has never had a problem speaking his mind, and his determination has never seemed to falter. Why put a business savvy individual into the seat of power over a sport that demands compassion? You don’t.
Speaking this past week, Dana commented:
"Nobody wants this (expletive) job, believe me. You better love this job to do it."
"Here's what I believe. I'm the guy with the road map. I'm the guy who knows where I want to go with this thing. I know what my end game is. I know where it is."
"When this thing is a sport, all over the entire world, and you can take the UFC to any city in any country, just like soccer, then I did it. I did what I set out to do. That's why I was put on this planet. That's my job, my destiny, whatever the (expletive) you want to call it."
The UFC hasn’t been having problems expanding under White’s eye. They have events planned for Austrailia and Europe next year, and are even going to bust out into new areas of the U.S. and Canada. They are on the very verge of breaking out on a global level. I say keep up the great work Dana.
The remarkable truth of the matter is that the UFC has flourished under White’s watch to the point where they stand on the cusp of breaking out on a global level. With events planned for Australia and Europe next year as well as breaking into new territories in the U.S. and Canada, who can argue with the success of the man born in Manchester, Connecticut.
