WBC #1 rated heavyweight Vladimir Virchis has apparently joined #2 rated Juan Carlos Gomez in balking at the March 8th date for their WBC heavyweight eliminator.

In a statement released by his advisor, Oleg Hug, Virchis says he needs at least eight more weeks of preparation for a fight of this importance and will not sign a fight contract for the proposed date. "Vladimir is planning today to leave Germany for his home country Ukraine, and there to continue the preparation, until these problems have been solved."
