Toney back in win column!

Heavyweight James Toney (70-6-3, 43 KOs) returned to action on Thursday night, scoring a dull ten round split decision over Danny Batchelder (25-5-1, 12 KOs) at the HP Pavillion in San Jose. In a heavyweight version of Taylor-Judah, Toney won on two cards 98-92, 97-93. Batchelder prevailed 96-94 on the other card. The bout marked the 38-year-old Toney’s first fight since dropping two WBC elimination battles against Samuel Peter.
