IWA Deep South Presents “South Of The Border” On May 5th
IWA Deep South Wrestling returns for "South of the Border" on Saturday May 5, 2007 at the Pell City Civic Center , located at 2801 Stemley Bridge Road, Pell City, AL.
IWA Deep South returns to the Pell City Civic Center in Pell City Alabama on Saturday night May 5th with a 7:30 belltime.
At our "Biting the Bullet" event in March we crowned new tag team champions in The Devil's Rejects (Tank & Iceberg). The two big men displayed a new attitude as they defeated Ian Rotten and Mickie Knuckles for the titles, including attacking Mickie after the match was over causing her to be stretchered out of the building and bloodying Drake Younger who tried to help her. Later that night, Tank defeated Drake after Drake challenged him to a fight, although it took some help from Iceberg. Mickie and Drake then challenged The Devil's Rejects for a title shot at the next show. Well we now have a response from the new champions. They informed IWA Deep South that they want competition and will destroy everyone in their path. They then said they have no problem kicking the crap out of Drake Younger again, but as for Mickie, they claim they already destroyed that "bitch" and have no interest in beating up a "helpless woman who should be at home and not getting herself involved in a man's sport". They told Drake to find a partner and they would put the belts on the line. When we told Drake of the situation he let us know he found himself the perfect partner. He has enlisted the help of the man that he battled in the final's of the IWA Mid-South Revolution Strong Style tournament, Eddie Kingston. Kingston makes his return to IWA Deep South on May 5th as he will team with Drake Younger to battle The Devil's Rejects for the IWA Deep South tag team titles.
After hearing those comments from the champs, Mickie was extremely pissed and said she will be at "South of the Border" on May 5th looking for a fight and to prove just how "helpless" she is. Anyone who has seen Mickie wrestle knows that she will be looking to beat the hell out of someone.
Also at "Biting the Bullet" we crowned a new IWA Deep South champion in "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush as he won a 4 way match to earn a title shot and in the main event defeated Hallowicked to win the belt. Also in that 4 way match was Sal Rinauro, who contacted IWA officials and said he wants a shot at the new champ since Quack couldn't pin him in that 4 way match and in fact no one pinned him so he is "undefeated in 2007" so he should be the # 1 contender. IWA officials were confused by Sal's logic, but contacted Quackenbush and Quack said he would have no problem "taking on that chicken Sal Rinauro" and putting an end to his so called undefeated streak. So on May 5th it will be Sal Rinauro taking on Mike Quackenbush for the IWA Deep South title.
Making his return to IWA Deep South will be international superstar Jimmy Rave who has been on a roll lately wrestling in Japan, England, and all over the United States. He said he is coming back to IWA Deep South to take on the best competition, so officials decided that he will take on a man making his debut on May 5th in the former CZW junior heavyweight champion Jigsaw. Jigsaw is another man on a roll as of late wrestling all over the U.S. and recently competing in a tour of Mexico. This should be a fantastic first time matchup.
"Sweet & Sour" Larry Sweeney has said he will be in Pell City on May 5th. He claims that with his recent winning streak, which includes wins over the likes of "Bullet" Bob Armstrong, Brad Armstrong and others, he is better than every man in Pell City and that there isn't a man in IWA Deep South that can defeat him. IWA officials are working on finding an opponent to step up to the plate and challenge Larry. We hope to have a challenger in our next update.
Chuck Taylor has been on a roll all around the country lately and looks to continue his winning ways in Alabama but he may have a tough night as he will battle local favorite and a man who is looking to make a name for himself around the country in Chrisjen Hayme and a win over Taylor would help make him with that goal.
Former IWA Deep South champion Hallowicked returns to Pell City looking to get back on the winning track as he will battle the young high flying fan favorite Ricochet. Can the speedy high flyer take out the former champ? See for yourself on May 5th.
May 5th will also see the debut of a young man from CZW who is known for his hardcore, never say die attitude. That man is Danny Havoc. Havoc is willing to wrestle any style, but prefers the hardcore style of wrestling and on May 5th he will do battle with a man who has been making a name for himself here in IWA Deep South in "Diehard" Dustin Lee. This will be a first time ever matchup between these two young men and with two guys willing to put it all on the line, this should be one exciting match.
And of course here at IWA Deep South we love our hardcore wrestling and on May 5th, we have signed a match between The King of Hardcore Ian Rotten and The Freakshow. Fans of hardcore know just what both these men will do so this should be a hardcore classic. The stipulations will be announced for this match in our next update.
When IWA Deep South fans think of hardcore, they think of Insane Lane. But like lots of hardcore wrestlers, fans think they can only hit people with weapons and not actually "wrestle". Well on May 5th, Lane will get the opportunity to show what he can do as he will battle a man who is still looking to get back on track here at IWA Deep South in the first ever champion Cabana Man Dan. Dan seemed really frustrated after losing to Chrisjen Hayme at our last show and wants to get back in the title hunt but what will happen when the former champ meets "The Mental Messiah" Insane Lane. Be there May 5th to find out!!!
