"Conan" Silveira makes successful return to MMA

Marcus "Conan" Silveira, 42, made his return to mixed martial arts with a victory Saturday night against Johnathan Ivey at Panther Fight League: Genesis.

Silveira took Ivey's back in the second round and rained down punches to force the referee stoppage.

Silveira's time away from the sport stemmed from an arrest during a drug bust in 2003. He finished his jail sentence in 2006 for his involvement in an ecstasy ring.

His previous fight was a TKO loss to Wes Sims at a HOOKnSHOOT event in December 2002.

Silveira is most known for fighting Kazushi Sakuraba at UFC Japan in 1997.
