Update on MTV & Wrestling Society X

www.PWInsider.com is reporting that according to network sources at MTV, there are currently no plans to air the tenth and final episodes of the Wrestling Society X season. So, as of right now, all sides are currently treating the original March 13 marathon as the airings of the final episodes of the WSX series.

This decision now allows all contracted talents to be automatically released from their deals and free to sign elsewhere, unless their contracts were extended by June 13. Talents that were under shorter deals with WSX, such as Colt Cabana who signed with WWE this past weekend, are already free to go.

None of the contracted WSX talent has been paid since the November 2006 TV tapings in Los Angeles, so being freed up to look elsewhere to work only seems like a positive thing. It should also be noted that Wrestling Society X is currently airing in various MTV international markets such as Great Britian, Australia and France. However, it is considered unlikely that WSX will continue under MTV once those episodes finish airing.
