SHEFFIELD, England (AP) -- Clinton Woods will defend his IBF light-heavyweight title against Julio Gonzalez in Las Vegas.
Woods' promoter, Dennis Hobson, said Wednesday the fight will be on the same card as the Ricky Hatton-Jose Luis Castillo contest at the Thomas & Mack Center on June 23.
It will be Woods' second fight against the Mexican. He won a unanimous decision over Gonzalez on Sept. 9, 2005, in his first defense of the title. Gonzalez is now the mandatory challenger.
"I'm delighted to have secured this chance for Clinton," Hobson said. "The last time I took Clinton to the States was five years ago against a peak Roy Jones and now the U.S. fans will get the chance to see just how good Clinton has become since then."
Jones stopped Woods in the sixth round in 2002.
